Information for referring doctors and allied health practitioners
The Blue Mountains tinnitus clinic offers telehealth tinnitus care across Australia and in-person sessions available in Katoomba NSW.
The clinic welcomes referrals from GPs, ENTs, and allied health colleagues, and is committed to keeping referrers informed throughout a patient’s care. The clinic is owned and operated by Gabrielle Bray, Clinical Audiologist and registered counsellor with the ACA.
All patients are required to begin with a tinnitus assessment, $400, $350 for pension holders and students (private billing clinic).
From there, a treatment plan will be recommended, if the patient needs one. Please see our assessment page for more information. Patients are not obligated to start a treatment plan.
Please see our treatments page on this website for more detail and the summary below.

Our clinical approach
The clinic provides evidence-based assessment and treatment for adults with tinnitus and sound intolerance, delivered by a clinician dual-qualified in audiology and counselling. Care follows the stepped-care model, matched to the patient's level of distress and functional impact.
All patients begin with a two-appointment Initial Tinnitus and Lifestyle Assessment (90 minutes + documentation + follow-up), covering audiological history, tinnitus characteristics, sleep, mood, and functional impact, using validated measures. This determines the treatment pathway and flags where onward audiological or medical review is indicated.
Treatment draws on approaches supported in international clinical guidelines: Tinnitus Activities Treatment (Tyler et al., University of Iowa), cognitive behavioural therapy for tinnitus (a first-line psychological approach, Cima et al., 2019), and sound therapy including Neuromonics where indicated. Programs are structured by level of impact, from a 5-week foundations program through to a 10-week CBT for tinnitus program with review options.
Sound therapy is delivered as part of a structured plan following assessment, if suitable.
